Clutch looks great for evening or daytime
I do not buy that many purses, but when I do, I like them to be well made. After owning a couple Couches and a Dooney, I found myself wanting a nice black clutch that would work for evening parties too, and would not look out of style a year from now or later. (I tend to be practical with my purse purchases.)
I did not want the typical clutch or evening bag--no velvet, satin, beads, gold chains, patent leather, metallic leather, etc. (Just my personal preference.) I have had those type of bags before and they are limiting IMHO plus look commonplace to me. I also did not want a clutch that had any logos (Couch, etc.) on it because I wanted to use it for evening (or cruises) and feel that logos can detract sometimes.
I had pretty much given up finding a clutch to fit my demands until I saw this Aleya NY one. I even went to the mall and looked at other handbags first just to make sure the Aleya would be right. After zooming in on the photos, I saw the construction looked great and there had been some thought put into the appearance of the clutch. I received my clutch yesterday and it is exactly as I expected and hoped for.
For example, the wrist strap is wider on the loop end, a nice touch which not only adds eye appeal but makes the strap stronger when the purse has some stuff inside. (So many clutches have these flimsy wrist straps that look like they will snap off the first time the purse is carried.) The zippers have nice leather pulls on them to easily grab and open the zipper. The quilting on the outside of the clutch plus the side leather/gold pieces dress up this clutch so it looks unique, classy and timeless. The edges of the zipper pulls and strap are nicely sewn instead of just being cut and dyed. The inside of the purse just has one zipper pocket, but this is okay because the purse is not that large where more inside pockets would be needed. The nice flat pocket on the outside would hold a lipstick or small item nicely.
Other benefits or things I like about the purse: it has a slightly oversized dust bag, and it was made in the US. (I don't know about anyone else, but I'm tired of some designer purses being made in China and outside the US.)
I am looking forward to wearing this clutch tomorrow at a "casual dress" party being held by a higher-up at work (which means the party will more likely be "slightly dressy" or even dressy); this purse will work under any of these scenarios so I'm set. I'm also planning to use this on cruises in the future, as well as wearing with my jeans when I want a smaller purse for going out.
