Due Farina was started by Fabiana Rigamonti and Marina Rosin in the Spring of 2004 while studying footwear design with Howard Davis at the Parsons School of Design. They never considered making shoe design their full time career, as they were both on paths to more "practical" career choices. However, the complex and creative craft of shoe design and shoe making became an addiction, and before they had a chance to ponder the direction their careers had taken, the designers had an order from Otto Tootsie Plohound for Spring '05 delivery, at the time, a very hip store.
