You know you've always wanted a pair of cowboy boots. It ought to be Frye's Billy. Its gorgeously weathered leather upper features stitch detailing that's considered hip on both sides of the Mississippi. This version has a shorter shaft for a whole new, edgy appeal.

The Frye Company is the oldest continuously operated shoe company in the United States. Founded in 1863 by John A. Frye, a well-to-do shoemaker from England, and family-run until 1945, Frye products have a long and illustrious history. Frye boots were worn by soldiers on both sides of America's Civil War, soldiers in the Spanish-American war, and by Teddy Roosevelt and his Rough Riders. When home-steading drew adventurous New England families to the West during the mid and late 1800's many of the pioneers wore Frye Boots for the long journey. Couldn't get the boot on!

This is a very cute boot but I couldn't get more than half my foot into it. If you have high arches, forget it.

I love Frye boots. I think they are very cute & this boot is no exception. However, the several Frye boots that I've ordered & had to return have all been too small. I finally had an insight: if they feel too small, how about ordering the next size up! Which I have done. I haven't yet gotten the larger Frye boot so don't know for sure if it will fit. But I'm optimistic.

have been craving a pair of grey shor cowboy boots for years, was hesitant to spend the money on these Frye boots but they are so worth it. very comfy and well made

Great, fun comfy boot. This is the greatest color!! Goes with all. It's versatile and looks classy with short skirts or cropped pants.

These boots are amazing. I feel like I had them for years! No breaking in! Beautiful color and they came the very next day after I ordered them! You will love them! I want every color!

Cute but very hard to get on

I have small (skinny) ankles and calves, and relatively small feet (6.5 and really a 6 in most Frye boots) and I can barely get these on. Once on, I could probably use the 6 for the size of my foot, but with the right sock should work. I even bought a shoe horn just so I could keep these. But even with the shoe horn, I have the hardest time getting them on. They are super cute, will be great with dresses and skinny jeans. But I am hoping they will stretch in a way that I can maneuver my foot into them without stretching the rest. Not likely... I honestly may have to return then, what good is a cute shoe that you can't wear?

First off, endless.com is outstanding! I ordered these boots wed. at 2:30 and they arrived by 2pm the very next day! I will be buying all of my shoes from here. As for the boots, they are beautiful. They look grey until you hold them up to something grey and then you realize they are more of a taupe with grey in it. I ordered my usual size 7.5 and they fit great. I have more of a narrow foot so my toes were not pinched. The top of the boot was tight BUT I have really high arches and I know it will stretch and be fine. I love, love these boots!

I absolutely LOVE these boots. I practically ripped open the box once they arrived at my doorstep. I ordered a 7.5, half a size up from my regular 7 because of the many reviews that I read prior to purchasing the boots; I'm glad I did. I have particularly wide feet and they surprisingly did not feel suffocated nor did my toes feel pinched. However, a size 7 would've probably caused me to say so otherwise. I ordered the gray, and like the other reviews say, they're more of a taupe and coordinate with EVERYTHING. I'll be looking forward to purchasing another pair in a different color =)

I bought these shoes about a year ago and have barely taken them off.
Fit was a "new" snug, but after being broke in, fit PERFECT! My only thing is that at times they can be a little slick on the bottom.
I wear them everywhere....with my black slacks to work, w/ yoga pants, down to the river banks, w/ jeans, the farmers market. And I always get complements! One of the best investments ever.

1/2 Size too large for my narrow feet

The boots are well constructed and the leather is soft and pretty. I have narrow and flat feet. I ordered my true size but should have gotten a 1/2 size smaller. The toe was narrow and the heel slipped.

Been looking for a "real" cowboy boot, but short, for years.Great construction ,had to send back for a 1/2 size bigger to get the proper fit.
Has a scuffed leather finish giving it a rustic worn in look.Will probably last forever

I read every review I could find about these and other frye styles and decided to order my regular size, 9 1/2. (the 9's fit me in another style.) I got them right away (awesome overnight shipping, endless!) but they were too tight in the toe. so I ordered the 10, which I'm wearing right now, and they're much, much bigger -- feel like a whole size bigger. even so, I'd rather wear thicker socks and perhaps add an insert than suffer with tight boots, so these are staying. they're very cool and look a bit darker and grayer (as opposed to taupey) than they do in the online photo -- which I prefer. if the sizing were better, I'd give them the full 5 stars.

Gorgeous boot

Not normally a cowboy-boots person, but I fell in love with the style and that distressed gray leather. I normally wear size 9.5. But as I have the Frye Engineer 12R in 9 (9.5 in those was HUGE on me), I ordered these in both sizes to do a comparison.

The 9.5's were roomy in the toe box, but the back slipped up and down way too much. (I'll be wearing these with tights or thin socks.) The 9's slipped a TAD in the back, which I believe boots are supposed to do, but the toe box is tight. So I kept the 9's but am bringing them to a shoemaker to see if he can stretch out the toe box.

The leather is VERY soft, so I know theses will stretch out and be comfy over time.

BTW, the 9's were almost impossible to get on. But they were easier to get on the second time. So I'm sure this will be matter of breaking in as well.
