The Frye Company is the oldest continuously operated shoe company in the United States. Founded in 1863 by John A. Frye, a well-to-do shoemaker from England, and family-run until 1945, Frye products have a long and illustrious history. Frye boots were worn by soldiers on both sides of America's Civil War, soldiers in the Spanish-American war, and by Teddy Roosevelt and his Rough Riders. When home-steading drew adventurous New England families to the West during the mid and late 1800's many of the pioneers wore Frye Boots for the long journey. Today Frye remains true to its roots with its line of heritage boots, but continues to innovate as it introduces chic new handbags, pumps, and sandals to its collection.

FANTSTIC!!!!!!

Posted by:  leeside (NYC) Nov 16, 2009
I stepped out of the box regarding the color - I usually go safe with black or brown - but I made the right choice - the color is amazing!! I absolutely love these boots. They fit perfectly and are unbelievably comfortable. These are my first pair of Frye boots but most definitely will not be my last..

Wow. Very Nice

Wow, these boots feel great. Normally I go for the HIGH Heel boots but now that I have a baby I really need to be practical & this boot is practical. Feels so comfortable. Excellent quality. My 1st pair of FRYE since I was in Junior High & I'm over 40 now. Wow. Love them. Try'em

<3 these boots

I took the plunge and bought these as a little present to myself after a marathon. These felt amazingly comfortable, great with jeans and or skirts, and the quality of the boot is excellent. I'm glad I read the reviews so that I ordered a half a size bigger (7.5) then my usual fit. It was perfect and I am extremely happy with my purchase!

Love them!

I love my Frye boots. They are truly well-crafted, durable boots. Takes some getting used to, but I've adjusted. Initially, I felt like I was clunking around b/c they are more substantial than your average shoe, but that is a testament to the quality materials and how well put together these boots are.

I've been wanting a pair of Frye boots for years, and with the sale price on these I took the plunge. They're fantastic- so comfortable- even though the heel is about 2 1/2", they're so walkable and comfortable, really not like wearing heels at all. I usually wear an 8 1/2 in dress shoes/heels and a 9 in sneakers, I originally ordered a 9 in these and they were way too big, the 8 1/2 is perfect. The color is actually great, I wanted these in brick, but for the price I went with the curry- more casual than the brick, but I think they'll age really nicely. Love, love, love

Perfect! Great Quality!!!

In contrary to the men's slipons we ordered, this boot is perfect in every aspect - been wearing them non-stop. Fantastic quality, great look.

Had to go half a size up

Posted by:  Franny Oct 5, 2009
I love this boot- but had to send back the 6.5 because it was way too tight- I went half a size up to a 7 and there is more room for my toes and the boot shaft is not as tight too.

Excellent quality

These boots are gorgeous! The workmanship is what you would expect from Frye and the style does not let you down either. The boots look great with skirts and jeans so you can expect to get a lot of use out of them for the price.
