First of all, the wide band around the shoe doesn't look like cheap elastic, which I was afraid of. The heel is high but comfortable, though you might want to drag your feet around the driveway to scuff up the soles, for better traction. It's not necessarily a bulky shoe, but it won't make large feet look dainty. I don't know, the shoe has a strange fit. My heel slipped out even as it pinched my toes. I'm exchanging for a 1/2 size larger and crossing my fingers.
