Women's New Balance WW558 Walking Shoe
I have worn this shoe walking for two years in a row (25 minute walk daily). The first shoe, in 2008, lasted 9 months. I am still walking with the second shoe, which has lasted from April or so this year. It is now October. This is the most comfortable shoe I have ever worn, walking. I just bought two pairs, so I will have one for next year, and one for the year after. I highly recommend this shoe.
Great shoe at a good price
This shoe is great for walking...it is also my true to size shoe size...it is hard to get a 12N in any retail shoe store.
Great for wide feet
I have wide feet & I walk a few miles a day. These are great. I ordered D which is perhaps a bit too wide (the first time I have ever said that), but that means I can wear them in my real size, rather than order up. So comfy. Good support. They look pretty cool and were well priced. If you walk a lot in wet weather, they'll wear out in a year or so, but you can take out the insole and wash it so they don't get too smelly. Great for wide-footed walkers!
First Pair of NB
I love these shoes! I ordered a 7 C/D because I really wanted the grey and pink pair. I normally wear a 7.5 for running/walking shoes so that my toes have space, and a 6.5 for dress shoes. I still really like the combination of grey and pink, but both colors are actually a little darker than pictured. They were comfy from the start, a new experience for me as I always had to get used to my Nikes! I like the fact that the shoe itself is fairly high off the ground and the sides come up around your ankle (not over). It is very padded inside and so it does feel kind of snug. Even though I got a wide, it feels like a normal. For people who just normally get half a size up, I would suggest getting a full size up (like I usually do, but didn't do this time). When I run or walk faster, my toes tend to bump the front of the shoe, it's not painful, but it is somewhat annoying, so I'm guessing it runs small. I'll buy NB from now on!
new balance
This shoe is a little tighter in the toe box than other new balance shoes. Not as comfortable either. Prettly lightweight so good for light hiking.
New Balance 558 walking
I am a registered nurse and I am on my feet all day. I have found that New Balance walking shoes are good not only for walking my dog, but also for keeping my feet feeling good for my shift. Pax
Fantastic walking shoe
Very comfortable - extremely good fit for med-high arches for woman.Great for walking - I walk 2-3 mi p/day or do indoor aerobics on DVD - works well for both. Paid 50. at the mall on sale during the summer - this is a good buy. Wish there were more colors.
Not Wide
I ordered a 5 wide, but they are definitely not wide. They are probably about a medium but they are comfortable all day and have great arch support.
Not as expected
This shoe was about 3/4 of an inch too long - even longer
than the size 6 sorel boots I wore today! Supposedly a wide, they were still tight and scratchy over the top of my foot....and they weren't even the right color! The ones that came were white with blue trim, the ones pictured online were white with gray trim and light pink accents.
