Gorgeous!!

Fabulous, though not identical, copy of the $1800 Ann D's (which, in my opinion, is a good thing, as I didn't like original's Frankenstein-inspired toebox). Though these may look a little Victorian/"twee" on the website, they are absolutely gorgeous once you try them on! The shape deviates just enough from the classic riding boot silhouette, and the triple laceup detail adds extra visual interest and imparts a steampunk vibe. The leather is sturdy, of excellent quality, and the website's depiction of the color is accurate- it's a rich, almost red-ish chocolate brown. They are incredibly comfortable as well- the heel is just high enough to give arch support while remaining a "flat" boot, and the boot shaft has a hidden elastic section at the top to accommodate varying calf sizes. The leather is, admittedly, pretty stiff in the heel, but I think once I break these in they'll be perfect!!

PLV Kerry Boot!

This boot is an obvious rip of Ann Demeulemeester's fall 2008 triple lace-up boot, but the best knockoff I've seen thus far. The main differences are that the side laces are just detail (not truly adjustable, although I plan to switch mine out for real laces) and the finish is a "new leather" look (that I already "aged" by rubbing them down with 95% ethanol). They fit well due to a stretch insert on the inside of the calf. I did add an extra insole for more cushing - probably not necessary for most, but I plan to wear these until they fall apart! I'm smitten with these boots!
