How It Fits

The details...

It's hard to resist the allure of this riding boot from Steve Madden. The Intyce is a tall-shafted riding boot with supple leather uppers and stylish strap-and-buckle embellishments at the calf. A low wedge heel adds a feminine touch to this comfortable boot. The Intyce's flexible, rubber outsole makes for a comfortable step while a lightly padded footbed makes walking enjoyable. Tuck skinny jeans into this on-trend yet classic boot or pair it with skirts for a softer look.

A MUST have!

Posted by:  target fan Nov 26, 2009
Wow! My first order with Endless.com and the shipping was super fast. So glad b/c I was able to wear my new boots today for Thanksgiving. They are super cute and stylish. I can see these being my staple boot through the winter season. I live in the South so these are perfect! I love the distressed look and I think the gold buckle looks great even if you wear mostly silver/white gold. Got lots of compliments. GET THESE! My regular size was out so I went up a 1/2 size. They are too big without socks, but with bulky tube socks they fit perfect. I will mostly wear them with tube socks b/c I like to tuck my skinny jeans in the sock.

BOOTiful!

This is a pretty nice boot. I purchased this boot a half size larger in the cognac color. I normally wear a 6.5 and i purchased this boot in a 7 and fits perfect! Although in retrospect, i should've gotten a 7.5 The ankle part of the boot is a little tight and hurts a bit when i wear them with my jeans tucked in. Overall, these boots are pretty comfortable and I'm thinking about getting these in black!

Better Leather Always Best!

Posted by:  shopaholic (NYC) Nov 22, 2009
I have these in both Cognac and now Black (thanks to Endless's AWESOME price and free shipping)...having bought these in Cognac, I should've known to buy a 1/2 size bigger...yes they will give bcs it's leather but why go through the torture if you don't have to...I ended up having my shoe man stretch them..but other than the lack of attention to my size - these boots ROCK! When buying boots or pumps~a size bigger or 1/2 always better!! Take my word! You won't regret buying these!!!

Love this Boot!!!

This boot is a must have!! They are beyond comfortable and look amazing on!! They are my favorite pair of shoes!!

new favorite boots

Posted by:  B. Sandage Nov 18, 2009
these boots are beyond perfect! i bought them in cognac (beautiful color) & am considering getting them in black as well. i wore them all day at work last friday, out that night & then shopping all day saturday with no pain at all. they are so comfortable! i bought my normal size 7 & they fit perfectly. the calves would probably be a bit wide for some people, but i think they're perfect. these look great with skinny jeans! buy them!

Cute!

Posted by:  ShoeFan (NYC) Nov 16, 2009
I really do like these boots, but after reading all the reviews I bought the boots a half of size bigger but I would not necessarily recommend. I think they are more true to size then some of the descriptions. Also if you do decide to get them a half of size bigger I would recommend buying inserts because the they do not have wonderful arch support but other than that they are adorable!!!

MUST HAVE BOOTS

Posted by:  shoe lover (Birmingham, AL USA) Nov 16, 2009
I LOOOOOOOOVVVEEEE these boots!!! my roommate and sister have already ordered a pair for themselves. this is by far the best price i have seen for them so definitely grabbed them as soon as i could! my calves are a bit thick, but these still fit on them (slightly snug, but works). i wear tights under them or just bare skin and each looks great with a dress. my sister who is thinner has worn them with jeans and a cute top and they are just awesome!!! these boots are so fabulous and i have gotten so many compliments. if you are debating about them, BUY!!!

Looks good but felt cheap

Posted by:  wwjd (CA, USA) Nov 16, 2009
The price at Endless is great especially with the free overnight shipping. I loved this boots when I saw it especially the color, but I didn't like the fit and it felt cheap to me. The ankle area kept bunching and it just didn't work out for me.

a bit off

Posted by:  KaliPorter (Omaha, NE) Nov 14, 2009
I thought it fit true to size and it was quite comfortable, but I returned them. The color was a bit too orange instead of tan and the quality of the leather wasn't what I expected. Also, and I should have noticed this before, the buckles are bright gold - which isn't really my style. The comfortable fit almost made up for the negative points.

I love these boots!

I have been wanting these boots for two years, but I never broke down and bought them at Nordstrom because they were too expensive. So, when I saw the great sale at Endless.com, I finally made the purchase and I couldn't be happier.

Good for the money

Posted by:  ShoeShopper (NYC) Nov 14, 2009
The price was right on Endless.com, but I would not pay full price for this boot. I have had the boots for about two weeks now, and the boots already look worn. Steve Madden's quality is not that great, but the boots are cute and I have been getting a lot of compliments. I first ordered an 8.5, but had to exchange my boots for a 9 because the 8.5 was much to small. (I never a wear a size 9. 8.5 is my true size. I have very skinny legs and the boot shaft is quite wide, but i am okay with it since the boots are more casual. Also, be aware tht the boots do tend to slouch quite a bit after you wear them a few times.

I get so many compliments on these boots!

Posted by:  Fashionblondie (Chicago) Nov 14, 2009
I love these boots! They are perfect with skinny jeans or leggings. I was surprised at how nice the leather was when I got them. They look much more expensive than they are. Definitely recommend these boots.

great casual boot

Posted by:  estuare (Seattle) Nov 9, 2009
These boots are pretty much exactly what I expected. The micro-wedge is great - it gives you a little height, but it feels like you're wearing flats. I could walk in these boots all day. I think I could go out dancing in these boots. The buckle at the top of the shaft does allow for a bit of customization to the the calf width, which is great for those of us born with smaller or larger than "average" calves. I personally have a slightly wider calf and most boots don't fit me. These ones fit great with no stretching required; I could probably even wear them over jeans. Also, I live in Seattle and it has been really rainy here this week. I've worn these boots out in the rain several times and not only did my feet stay dry, but the leather didn't stain at all. My one critique is that the cognac colored leather is not as nice looking as I would ideally hope - it's a bit grainy - but overall, this is a great boot.

Adorable and comfortable

Posted by:  Hilary B (Cincinnati, OH) Nov 9, 2009
These boots are just as cute in person as they are online. They look great with skinny leg jeans. The only complaint I have is they are an inch or two below my knee, but that could just be me (I'm 5'8" if that helps). The wedge heel is great and comfortable.

Saggy ankles

Posted by:  target lover Nov 9, 2009
I have thin calves (13") and despite the fact that the shaft had a buckle at the top to adjust the boot opening, it was way too saggy in the ankle and just ended up bunching up and looking bad. With the buckle on the last hole, it made the shaft sort of puff out, since all that leather still needs to go somewhere. All in all, a disappointing look.

cute boots, funny fit

Posted by:  chicago Nov 9, 2009
I like these boots a lot, but the fit is a little funny. I ordered my regular size but received it and it was a little snug. I then ordered 1/2 size up and it was much too big. I decided to keep the smaller ones and hope they will stretch a little. I have worn them a few times and it seems to be working - they feel much better.

Just what I wanted

Posted by:  Jennn (Boston) Nov 9, 2009
I spent a lot of time looking for classy, but fun black riding boots. This was my third attempt at finding these boots and I'm very happy with them. I get lots of compliments and they're appropriate for work, casual weekends, and going out. They're very comfortable and go great with jeans as well as skirts and dresses. The buckle adjusts so tucking in pants is not a problem. The only issue I have is that there is absolutely no traction, but I've found that this is pretty much the case with most riding boots. Definitely worth the price and should last me a few good seasons if i treat them well!

little small, but they will stretch!

Posted by:  LABootLover (Los Angeles) Nov 8, 2009
At first try these boots felt way to small in botht the length and the width, but I risked it and wore them out anyway. Sure enough within a week they stretched and softened and they feel great now. The leather and color are both amazing and they are very comfortable once I broke them in.

Cuter in life than online!

Posted by:  Katiekicks Nov 3, 2009
I was so excited when I got these boots- they are so much cuter that they look online. I absolutely love them. Here's why I knock a star: 1)First day I wore the boot the little piece of leather that holds the buckle down broke. I didn't want to send the whole thing back, so I'm just taking them to a local shoe doctore. 2) They scuff super easy.
SO cute though!

Thank you Endless for the price!

Posted by:  Pokey (Michigan) Oct 24, 2009
I've been in love with these boots since I saw them on my cousin 2 years ago, but I was never willing to pay the $200 price tag. Thank goodness that endless had them on sale- definitely worth the $104. These boots are cute with skinny jeans or tights w/ a skirt or dress. It's the perfect "it" boot this season. The wedge makes it very comfortable. I'm usually a size 8, but I always order a 8.5 in boots for extra room and for thick socks. I have good size calves and these boots fit perfectly. I get tons of compliments and I love that I no longer have to look for cognac boots this season. Definitely worth the money!

Nice Basic Black Boots

Posted by:  LuvShooz (San Diego, Ca.) Oct 23, 2009
I originally bought these boots in cognac, but exchanged them for the blacks ones instead. The black ones are more versatile and look more "money" than the cognac. Some of my girlfriends have the cognac colored ones and I can tell you first hand that they all have scuff marks and scratches on their boots after just a few weeks of owning the boots. As for the fit, I usually wear a 7 or 7.5. I originally got these in a size 7, but I ended up exchanging for a 7.5 and it fits perfectly--since I like to wear socks. Also, the toe box is a bit narrow so I'd go up half a size just for that alone. For those that wonder if the ankle area slouches, it does slouch a bit. However, it's not sloppy slouchy. FYI... There is a buckle on the top of the boot that you can adjust. Since my calves are small, I have mine on the last hole to keep my boots up instead of sagging. It still does sag a bit around the ankle, but that's to be expected.

Like the Cognac better than the black

Posted by:  iheart2shop (Seattle, WA USA) Oct 22, 2009
I tried both colors on and I really like the look of the cognac. I was looking for a somewhat rugged looking rider boot and the texture of the leather shows up much better on the cognac than the black. The black may be more versatile but I don't think they look as special.

great boot

Posted by:  dw Oct 17, 2009
Great price and great style. Fairly comfortable, however, after awhile the toe area can get a little uncomfortable.

Different than expected

Posted by:  katie (Brooklyn) Oct 17, 2009
I was hoping to receive these boots and fall in love with the perfect high, black leather slip-on, wear with jeans or a skirt boot, but I was a little disappointed when I got them.

The toe was rounder than what the photo shows, and the quality was not up to par. For the price, I suppose I should have expected less, but I was giving Steve Madden the benefit of the doubt on this one. I sent them back, and will continue my search...

Awesome boot!

Posted by:  shoeaddict (new york city) Oct 14, 2009
I absolutely love these boots, and this website! I've been telling all my friends. My boots arrive literally overnight! and the free shipping was a definite icing on the cake

The boots were great although I usually wear an 8 1/2 and these were super narrow and tight so I sent them back for a 9 and I LOVE them, they go with everything and are super comfy. I would however order a half size up to ensure a good fit.

Lovin' it

Posted by:  lovin' it Oct 10, 2009
This is a great boot and a wonderful price. The color is fantastic! (I got the camel color).

Super cute, but everyone has it!

Posted by:  Jenn Oct 5, 2009
I love this boot...simple, classic design and very comfortable for walking.

My only complaint has nothing to do with the boot itself. When I went out over the weekend, I noticed three other women wearing the exact same boot. Not a big deal, but if you prefer something a little more unique, this is not the boot for you.

Nice boot for the price

Posted by:  swatishrm (New York City) Oct 5, 2009
I think the boot has a simple, classic style. Some people may think the leather is thin and looks a little cheap, but I thought it was fine. There were a half size too small for me or I would have kept them.

Great Boots!

Love love love these boots. Wore them with an animal print dress and got tons of compliments. Very comfortable as well.

Great style and value

Posted by:  Shimmergal (New York City) Sep 30, 2009
These shoes are great for the style, price, and fit. I have been looking for affordable, good quality, low wedge boots for a long time, so I was ecstatic when I found these! They fit really well, and I like the adjustable buckle on the sides which allows them to be flexible for different calf sizes. My only gripe is that sometimes they hurt the tops of my toes when I'm walking for longer periods of time, but overall, they are very comfortable.

Very comfy for long walks

Posted by:  S. Li (New York, NY United States) Jan 15, 2009
I finally bought these boots in tan color after obsessing over them for a long time. Like most Steve Madden shoes, I had to order 1/2 size up, which wasn't surprising since I already know that SM shoes tend to run small. They fit very comfortably. Easy to put on, despite the lack of zipper. I wore them with my skinny jeans tucked in, and they are super comfy and look very stylish. People on the street asked me where I've gotten them several times. I walked around in them, and my feet only start hurting toward the very end of the day (probably after 6 hours of walking around!!). Love them!!

Love These boats

Posted by:  Miss Prim N Proper (Queens,NY) Dec 23, 2008
Overall i love the cognac color of the boots, but the boots do slouch around the ankle. I don't mind the slouching, but what i do mind is that the leather gets scratches and they wrinkle quickly. I don't think i would be able to wear these boots next year. Don't buy these boots for 200 dollers,,but since they have them on sale on this site............GO FOR IT

Returning the shoes as I Type.......

Posted by:  Crystal (CA) Nov 25, 2008
I recieved these shoes yesterday and was completly excited. I opened the box and they looked really cute. However, when I tried them on, I was extremly dissappointed. The leather is not very good quality and was very stiff around the ankle. When I walk in them, the leather bends at my ankle causing it to hurt. Not to mention, they are just not comfortable period. I am sad I have to return them. I suggest going to the Steve Madden store and trying them on BEFORE you buy so you wont be upset

My go-to-boot!

Posted by:  kristen (Chapel Hill, NC) Nov 13, 2008
Im not quite sure why people are giving these boots negative marks because they are fabulous. I read many people complaining that they slouch. Well...I am able to wear mine either straight up or wear them slouchy. Im not sure why other people are having problems with figuring this out. There is a buckle on the side so you can adjust to make them fitted or slouchy. I get compliments from these boots EVERY time I wear them. They are worth the price. My leather looks great and I've had them for months. They don't look cheap and both the black and the cognac are the perfect shade. I originally bought the boot by Loeffler Randall which are twice as much. I ended up returning them after I tried these on. I thought these were more comfortable, 1/2 the price and IDENTICAL to the originals. LOVE THEM! If I were you I would get them in both colors since they are on sale!

too slouchy

Posted by:  i, fabulous (california) Oct 20, 2008
it's too bad. they look really nice, the fit is right & the color is pretty but once you put it on the slouch around the calf is just too obvious! i had to return mine as i don't think it'll get better over time. i have fairly average calves, a little muscular even but these boots i'm afraid will make them look bigger, there's just too much room around the calves!

not really rider style

Posted by:  MarissaRee Aug 16, 2008
I have a pair of riding boots and those are much more stiff and are higher. These boots are a bit more slouchy and i dont think they looked like riding boots. i actually got them at a discount store and paid half the price. i didnt buy them as riding boots so maybe that is why i am so happy with them.

Just OK!

Posted by:  Kandy (San Diego, CA) Jan 9, 2008
I agree with the previous reviewer. These boots are nice but definitely not worth the price. I bought the cognac leather and they are a lot more orange than I expected and the quality of the leather is really poor considering the very high price! They are also very loose and droopy looking around the ankle area. Not reccomended if you ask me but if they are 50 to 60% off then go for it anything more than that is just not worth the $.

Okay Boot

Posted by:  Happy Shopper (MD USA) Dec 18, 2007
I think this boot is nice, but a bit expensive. I tried the cognac color and didn't like the leather. I ordered the grey suede and at first it seemed to have discoloration issues but it might be the way the suede is brushed. I will have to play with it. I think it's best to wait until these go on sale as I am sure they will.
