Very Cool Winter Boots

These boots are very cool, the colour was yummier in real life - I purchased the Shale - I spent alot of time researching what size to purchase - I'm a 7.5 /38 - so based on many reviews I went down a 1/2 a size & bought the 7, unfortunately they were too small and reordered the 8 which are perfect, slightly wide but very cosy. The boot has minimal flexibility & arch support so I wouldn't suggest buying them if you need to go long distance walking but if you just need a nice cosy cool looking pair of boots these will be for you!

I love these boots! I read all the reviews prior to buying them, so i'm a size 8 1/2 and they said to get a 1/2 size down to a 8 which is very true! They are very stylish! And I love the slate color!

Very uncomfortable. The back of my heals are killing me! I put on very thick socks to see if that was the reason and no! That did not do it. They are not made for walking at all. I barely could stand in them. How ever they are very warm. So sad.

I've been a fan of Sorel boots for a number of years. This boots are really warm but very clunky and difficult to drive in. I like that I can keep them laced and slip my feet right in without it being a big pain.

I originally ordered this boot in a 8 and it was way too small (I typically wear an 8 or 8.5). Endless return process was very easy and I ordered the 9. They fit perfect! Love the warm liner that is removable. These are my favorite winter boot!

I love my Joan of Arctic boots. I ordered these and the Cate the Great style. The Joan of arctic were much more comfortable, and I liked the way they looked on me more so than the Cate the Great. I could do with out so much of the faux fur trim, but other than that I love these boots. I've gotten compliments on them every time I wear them. I can't wait to try them out with different outfits, these boots are just fun to wear.

I was worried when I ordered these because people said they were not comfy. Sooo not true, they are soo comfy! The bottom of boot is rubber so of course that doesn't flex. But these are REAL winter boots and not some fashion accessory like UGGS. They look amazing and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. Well worth the money!! And very well made!!

I love the look of the tan/navy combo, have held onto these for a couple of weeks even though I felt the fit was somehow "off". I didn't mind the weight - they are heavy - the problem is that you can't bend at the ankle (do the stair test, or try driving your car, impossible to flex at the ankle). So bummed as I need a high winter boot for deep snow. Still looking for the right boot. My old sorels (15 yrs ago) had the rubber foot and a nylon upper and they were much lighter and wearable in all conditions. They just didn't win any style points...these look great but you just can't drive in them. I have the same issue with Hunter rain boots - very heavy and inflexible.

I am a true 9.5 and these only come in whole sizes so after reading the other reviews I purchased these boots in a size 9. Too short. I had to return them for a 10 because my toe was up against the toe of the boot. They feel a bit clunky but some thick socks should help with that. I can't wait to try them out in the snow!

I got this boot in black as well as the black J of A Reserve boot because I like the colour of the reserve one better and wanted to see if the quality was really much better for over double the price, I've seen these in all the stores and wanted something more original. The J of A Reserve boot has a nicer plush shearling in the felt liner, all black suede, crystal details on it compared with this one but the black fur part is was thick/puffy so it stuck out right at the thickest part of the calf which was not flattering. This one has a leather strap that snaps/attaches the liner to the boot (that the Reserve one doesn't have) that pulls in/compresses the fur part (which is also less pouffy)so it looks much better. General construction quality was the same. Don't pay extra for the "Reserve" boot! Comfy around the house, but haven't tested outside yet.

This shoe is huge and makes you look like you're wearing moon boots. Good luck walking in them, it's like marching with 15 lb weights on your feet.

This is my third pair of Sorels. I love this style and bought them before the Winter season starts. They are hard to find in the smaller sizes once winter kicks in. They are comfy and warm. I would suggest ordering a 1/2 size down since they do run big. These are great boots for the chilly outdoors.

I adored these boots my sister had on a visit home. I realy had no purpose for winter boots since I live in such tropical climates, until my relocation. So with the new need,of winter boots I hoped to find the same boot and wishful thinking wanted them to be on sale since they were purchased a season later and in the midst of summer. Unfortunately not the case.
I purchased the shoe one size larger, and tried them on with one pairbof thick thermal socks they fit well with enough space to wiggle, flex and curl your toes which is important. The width of the boot is relitively wide since I have a narrow foot.
The boots are somewhat heavy when walking up the stairs so keep that in mind when having to conquer the large mounds of piled up snow at the crosswalks.
Happy with the purchase.

I saw these boots a few months ago in a store and really wanted them. I haven't worn them yet (I bought them after the big snow storm), but they feel good on. They seem a little big, but I think that's ok for snowboots. I normally wear a 6 and I ordered a 6...I wouldn't exchange them for a smaller size. I like everything about them!

I've had these for a year. Everytime it's nasty outside I'm so glad I got them. I have to walk the dog in the snow and these are SNOW BOOTS. Oversized for big socks and waterproof in snow. I wear a size 8.5 and I got a 9 knowing that these are bulky boots by nature. Love them!

After reading the reviews I was left scratching my head about what size to order. I've come to the conclusion your best bet is to always start with your normal size. When I received these, I was immediately taken aback by how MASSIVE the boot was overall, and the foot is REALLY huge. My first time ordering snow boots, and I wasn't prepared for this, lol. Anyhoo, I foolishly ordered a size down from my normal size (I wear a 10 and got the 9), as most of the reviewers indicated the boot ran large. I had the HARDEST time getting it on! I understand the purpose of the liner - making the boot warm and all - but it made it a task to get the boot on. Once I finally got my foot in (wearing tights), the boot felt too tight on the top of my foot. Also, I found the shaft way too bulky for casual wear. The boot is cute as hell though, but it isn't for me. Next up, Cate the Great!

I noticed a woman wearing these boots while I was visiting Chicago and I immediately fell in love. It took me about two months and three snowstorms to justify spending the money on these and I'm glad I did. I normally wear a 10 but once and awhile can fit into a 9.5, but decided to order my boots in a 10 and it was a good choice for me. There is little wiggle room but with thick socks its perfect! What I like about the boots is that they are versatile; they are bulky enough where my flare leg or boot cut jeans just slighly fit into them without looking to funny then I can even wear them with my leggins for an even different look. They are tough to walk in and especially drive in and are a bit uncomfortable on my shins but the more and more I have been wearing them they are breaking in and getting much more comfortable! I definitely noticed I was turning a few heads as I was walking through the store with them on! If you have the money for them I would definitely recommend them!

I love the style of these boots, but didn't find them very wearable outside of just being in the snow. They are pretty heavy and the boot shaft is wide making it difficult to bend your ankle, so I felt like I could not drive in them, I returned them, too bad because they are so cute!

these boots look and sound great when reading on the site...however, once you put them on they are big! Big around the leg area and feet and they are very difficult to walk in. If you were 5'6" tall these would be good for you...short people don't try them!

They are running pretty big and wide but they are so cute and I'm sure will keep my feet toasty! The shaft goes up right on the widest part of my calves (I'm 5'0" tall) Had to return for a smaller size. A little heavy but that's to be expected with rubber sole/toe boots.

I just adore these boots. They are sturdy without feeling too bulky to walk around in, and in my opinion they are very feminine (for a snow boot). I would say the sizing is accurate/roomy. I got my normal size and had 2 pairs of socks on and the fit was snug, not uncomfortable. I have walked in heavy, slick snow in these and felt stable so the traction is good also. I would absolutely recommend these. They get the job done while being very cute...a rare combination!

Finally my feet are warm!

I love these boots and they are perfect for New England winters! I've worn them to work to slog through the parking lot slush and out for playtime in the snow. They are warm and comfortable. If you want some "cute" boot to wear in the city these probably aren't for you but if you want a warm winter boot for snowy and inclement weather, this is it

These boots are rated to -25 and there's a price for that. The boot feels like a snowboard shoe: it's stiff, wide, and not form-fitting at all. While they might be great for 12 hours of playing in the snow, they're a little too uncomfortable to justify keeping these for looking cute on the slopes or walking around slushy New England streets.

I took a cue from other reviewers and ordered a full size smaller than I normally wear, and I'm glad I did because these boots run very large. The boots chafed against the back of my ankles and the tops of my feet the first few times I wore them, but now that they are broken in they are very comfortable. I walked all over New York City in them, including during and after the big blizzard in the last week of December. My feet stayed warm and dry despite slogging through slush puddles! These boots are great quality for the price, and I would recommend them to anyone!

I read the reviews and ordered half-size smaller. The boots fit and are really comfortable. I love the design and got a lot of compliments in the first week I wore them. Besides they keep my feet warm..yeah! Love them!

The boots look great and the fit is great the problem with the boot is that I can't bend my feet to walk! They are so stiff! I bought them 12/09 and wore them once. When it snowed in 12/10 I tried them again and I still can't take walking with them and of course its too late to return them!

At first, the heel of these boots drove me nuts, it drives right into your ankle where the rubber meets in the back but I liked the style so much that I kept them. They are easy to slip on and off and are great for short trips to take the dog out. My toes freeze when I've been trekking through the snow for a few minutes (even with wool socks) and they're too clunky for longer walks.

I asked for these boots for Christmas and my husband listened! Love the looks of them, and wore them in 7 degrees BELOW zero weather yesterday - my hands were frozen, but my feet were toasty warm and looking good! I would recommend sizing down 1/2 size as mine are a bit roomier than they are probably supposed to be. I love them nonetheless!

I got these boots because I live in Minnesota and I need some serious winter boots. These are very cute...but the shaft of the boot is SO stiff that you can barely walk. The seam on the inside of the boot shaft also rubbed all the skin off the back of my heel/Achilles tendon, even with decent socks on. The overall boot fit my foot, except that the heel was loose and wiggled around a lot. I couldn't have gone another size down as it fit my toes rather snugly. It's difficult to walk more than 1 block in these.

But I had to return it. I had gotten the right size for the fit (they do run large), but I wore them for about 2 hours and had problem with the back ankle area rubbing. It actually became quite painful and I had blisters on my Achilles area when I got home. So sad because I really liked them and heard Sorel was a really good brand (they are), but just didn't work for me.

I wear a size 11 and sometimes that is too short. Since so many reviewers said this boot ran long, I figured a size 11 would be perfect - however, the size 11 in this boot JUST fits. I can't wear thick socks with them. I think the look is fabulous, especially with the faux fur. The boot seems very warm. I don't find it particularly heavy like some people said - it does go up to mid-calf so of course it is heavier than a ballet flat but I expected that.

Warm But Needs Support

These boots are really toasty and a nice height. I get a lot of complements on them and they make walking in the snow easy. One complaint is that they have no arch support. I had to buy inserts to get minimal support which doesn't seem fair considering the cost of the boots. The other complaint is that the laces are kind of slick and untie even from a double knot very easily. However, despite these problems I have been enjoying them during the Chicago winter.

Maybe this is just how it is with a snowboot but my feet looked positively huge in this boot. And the boot felt very wide - around the ankle and through the foot. It did run about 1/2 size too big but that was OK with me - I wanted some extra room in case I wanted to wear the boots with very thick socks.

The boot was extremely warm and did great functionally.

I am very pleased with the Sorel Joan of Arctic boot - I have always been a Sorel fan and get a new pair every winter, this year the Joan of Arctic is awesome. Cute fur trim and warm as always. About a 1/2 size to large - order small. No need to waterproof. Minimal support so it's tough to wear them for a long period of time. Love the insider liner! Nice job Sorel!!!

After reading the several, somewhat inconsistent reviews, I was a little leary to order these on-line. But I'm glad I did! They fit perfectly! I typically wear an 8.5 so I went with an 8 and they are perfect. They lost their stiffness after one wearing - I ordered black, cute with jeans, leggings, etc. Warm and cute, how could you go wrong!?

I saw these in a Nordstrom catalog and liked them right away. When I saw them on Endless and found they were on sale, I ordered them right away. The footbed is somewhat wide and the sizing is off by a full size. I followed others and ordered a 6 when I normally wear a 7. They fit perfectly. They look really cute with skinny jeans and a puffer coat or even a long, heavy sweater. They are warm and comfortable. A very well made boot.

I recently purchased these boots. The first pair were to small, (my reg. size). I returned them with no difficulty and ordered a size larger. They fit and look great! I haven't worn them yet because they are wrapped up under the tree! Not to bulky and I'm sure they will keep my feet warm when we go snow shoeing. (I live in Maine where we have a lot of snow and cold temps). I would recomend these boots, a good buy!

Love the look of these boots! They definitely run large and wide. I wear a 6 1/2 and sized down to a 6 and there is still plenty of room even with a thick sock. They are a bit clunky and stiff, but what I expect from a true snow boot. They are not soft and cuddly like Uggs, but if you are looking for a great snow boot, they are a good pick!

I love how these boots look but they are serious snow boots and are very clunky. It feels a little like wearing ski boots. The design of the boot pushed my feet forward so even though I was wearing a half a size too big and my feet were floating around inside, they were hitting the front when I walked. I tried going a full size smaller but they were too cramped. Perhaps if I lived in a place where there was lots of snow it would make sense but they don't really seem appropriate for walking around New York City.

I purchased the boots in my size (8) and I tried them on with thick socks and they fit perfect. I even have room to tuck my pants in. They feel so warm and I like the fact that they are waterproof. We're getting snow in Chicago this weekend :( but it gives me an excuse to wear my new boots.. I can't wait!

I just bought these boots on Black Friday, and I couldn't be happier. They are so cute, so warm, and super comfortable! I wore them while hunting for a Christmas tree in a snow storm, and my feet stayed toasty warm! While others were complaining that they were cold, I found the PERFECT tree thanks to my feet being dry and warm in my Joan of Arctic Boots!

Unlike other reviewers, I found the size 12 to be true to size. I'm normally an 11.5 and the 12 was just long enough. Width seemed normal with some arch support. This is a very well made boot and ultra comfortable too.

I have been looking high and low for this boot for a better price than its MSRP. Endless had 30% off, free shipping and 1 day delivery for under $100. Love these boots with skinny jeans, apres ski or with smartwool socks and skirts as seen in Athleta. They run true to size. Sorel boots are second to none!

These boots are so cute! I read the reviews and ordered a size smaller than I normally wear. These don't come in half sizes, so I had to go down a full size. I wish I had trusted my gut and just ordered my normal size. I couldn't even get the left foot on all the way, and barely got the right one on, and that was with NO socks. I will be exchanging these for the correct size, because I really like them.

I'm in Alaska, so I need something warm and snow proof. Cute would be nice as well...this boot fits the bill. It's bulky, but very warm. I'm a 7, should have got a 6, but I'll just wear 2 pairs of thick socks. I'm happy!

I LOVE these boots!! I ordered the Suede and was a little disappointed because the stitching and the sole are more pink than red. I am returning them, but will definitely be purchasing the same boot in a different color! I wear a 6 1/2, but I ordered them in a 6 and they fit great. They are cute, comfortable, and will be perfect for the cold New York winters! Another plus is the fast shipping- I ordered them at 2 p.m. and had them the next day!

Got these boots in teh mail yesterday and I was kind of bummed because in the picture online it looks like it has red stitching and rubber on the bottom but it's hot pink :( But i'm keeping them none the less, but ya they're pink not red

These boots are ultra comfortable and the removable inner lining is a great feature. It is very, very stylish. I can see wearing this with leggings, slim jeans, and skirt.

Other than the fact I needed a whole size smaller (I wear a 10 and ended buying a 9) its a great boot. The 9 fits perfect and the boot was very warm. Wore them in Wyoming in February so it was definitely tested for warmth and it passed.

I just love them! They are very comfortable, keep my feet warm great to walk in for hours. The only thing I found is that I did have to go a size smaller than I usually wear. I normally wear a size 6 and I had to get a 5.

I was so nervous ordering these boots because I wear size 11. Between the comments and my husband who is a Sorel FAN, and just purchased snow boots from them recently convinced me to get a size 10...they fit perfect. They obviously need to be broken in, but that's awesome cause I can tell they will hug my foot perfectly. :)

I ordered a 1/2 to full size smaller than I normally wear and they fit great. They keep my feet really warm and dry. Overall, it's a great boot and they look exactly as pictured.

I actually ordered these for my mom to give me, for Christmas. I was looking all over and couldn't find them in my size 7 1/2 - 8. Then I read a review that said they run about a 1/2 size too big, so I ordered them in a 7. They fit, but I wonder if I would have been better with an 8. The couple of times I've worn them so far, they hurt the back of my foot just above my heel. I am hoping it is just because they are brand new and over time and wear, will soften and stretch out! Warm and toasty, and nice and comfy otherwise - LOVE them!

I read the comments on line that this boot runs large, so I got a half size smaller than I typically wear (6), but needed to exchange to a 7. I like the boots, but they aren't as warm as I thought they'd be (there isn't much insulation on the sole) and the fur top is a bit thick. Also, Endless was very easy to work with on the exchange, I'd buy from this site again.

Exactly what I needed! warm & super cozy...like clouds for your feet!

This boot is great! I got an 8 as I'm usually a 8.5/9. It's a perfect fit, my feet would swim in a 9. Socks are optional as they are that warm! My tights(that I wear as underlayers)have been just enough. I wanted the sierra tan originally, yet I'm happy with the hawk...the stares in brown are too much!

i'm one of those people who absolutely hate UGGs and have suffered 4 cold winters in NYC b/c i refuse to buy those hideous creatures. lucky for me, i saw a sorrell ad in my latest issue of elle and immediately googled the joan of artic boot. i now fall into the camp that LOVES this boot. yes- it runs a half size big (bought a 7, i usually wear 7.5). yes- it's a little clunky and i feel like i'm channeling the ewoks when i wear them. yes- my feet stayed 100% dry while trekking through the snow in upstate NY. yes- my feet stayed warm even though i was only wearing tights and not socks. i have muscular calves and they fit perfectly whether i'm tucking in skinny jeans, leggings or only wearing tights w/ a dress.

you may not agree w/ the many ways i like to wear these boots but you will enjoy them regardless. i definitely feel like i got my money's worth, quality is excellent and sure beats wearing baggy, saggy, sloppy UGGS.

they are cute and warm....but, for New York City walking, don't work at all!
too uncomfortable, at the point that they are really painful, in the back of the leg, down, like in the ankle area, but in the back, Achilles tendon.

The boot is made for Wisconsin winters with a bit of frill for the chill. The boot fit well with thick socks except for around the ankle. It is quite wide there. maybe for tucking in large snow pants. Not well suited to wear with jeans, although I do. They are very warm which is great for the sub zero temperatures we experience here. So, a bit of give with the take. Fashion mixed with function. Over all I am pleased.

I love these boots!

I originally ordered these in 10 b/c I'm regularaly a 9.5 they way too wide ended up ordering a 9 and they fit great not too tight on the toe and felt more snug in the width. Also they look great and don't leak like ugg's.

Feet felt squashed

I have always loved Sorels, but many of them, including this style, lack a decent arch support. Also, the moment I put my foot in this boot, I felt like the top portion of the boot over the front half of my foot was squashing down on my foot - strange feeling. There wasn't as much flexibilty as I would have liked, and it felt a bit more clumsy than the Hi-Tec style I had tried on prior to trying the Joan Of the Arctic boot. The width was also too narrow for my foot. Looks cute though!

Listen to me. I don't know what anyone who ordered this book considers 'too big' order a smaller size. I did this and the 11 M did not fit at all. If you have a high instep and wide calf, order your regular size. I guarentee you, you won't regret it. It's obvious to me that the folks who thought this boot was too big, did not have a high instep or a wide calf.

The colors and warmth cover it all. It's also the most comfortable winter boot I own. Not to mention that I can shove my boot cut jeans into them and don't need a straight leg pair of jeans to make it happen. The rubber part in the front make it perfect for rain, snow, mud, etc.

I had read other reviews before I bought the boots and I had tried it on in Nordstrom, so it's true the boot does run big...1/2-to a whole size. I normally wear a 7 and I bought the size 6. There isn't room for thick socks, but they keep your feet really warm regardless. I haven't tried them in the snow yet...but they are a well-made boot.

these boots are awesome. i am a size 5 and it is hard to find shoes and especially hard to find boots because of my skinny legs. these are great because, although they're bulky, they're super warm and waterproof and i can lace them as tight as i need to. i walked through an icy stream in the dead of winter in the mountains of pennsylvania with no trouble and no leaks! i wouldn't wear these out and about but they are the perfect 'cute' snow boot for when i know i'm headed somewhere icy or slushy. they are a little roomy but its the perfect amount of space for an UGG insole of the same size shoe. so now i have a soft furry footbed in these cute furry boots. i hope to have these forever!

huge and slippery

I got these for a trip to the mountains and they were ridiculously slippery on ice and snow. Not only do they run big like people said but they are very wide also. They are comfortable with thick socks. Despite everything I still think they are kinda cute even though everyone makes fun of me when I wear them.

Definitely get these boots one size smaller than your shoe size. I usually wear a 9 but had to get an 8. They are a little stiff when you first get them, but they break in easily.

I was so excited to get these boots until the second I tried them on...way too uncomfortable to walk in. Almost feels like you have skis on your feet. I am returning them immediately for a more comfortable winter boot.

I wear a woman's 12-13 usually, but I needed an 11. I couldn't even lace the 12 tight enough when I stuffed my jeans inside. I felt like Sasquatch wearing the 12 (of course, I usually feel like Sasquatch with a size 12, so that's not saying much).

Love these boots, warms AND stylish (looks cute with skinny jeans tucked in)! Unfortunately they are a bit too large. I wear a size 7 and they were way too big. So i returned for a size 6, which i ended up keeping, but they are a little bit more snug then i would have liked. Too bad they don't come in half sizes! haven't worn them out yet but very excited to once the weather gets colder
