mixed feelings

My mom has had a pair of these exact slipper socks for YEARS, and has worn them like crazy. I saw these, and thought I'd replace the old, beat-up pair she has, but a couple things didnt work:
1. Sizing is just about impossible, with a S, M, L, etc... mom is a 10, and I think the S or XS would have been right.
2. The ankle area is too tight! You would think for being a unisex/man's slipper, this would be looser, but mom had a very hard time getting her foot (that was WAY to small for the great big slipper size I ordered) through the angled ankle area... and once they were on, the same area kind of cut into her ankle.

It's a shame... she has sworn by these slippers for probably close to 10 years (she REALLY needs a new pair), but now we're going to look for a different brand. This pair went back.
