Bruce Makowsky is not a newcomer to the industry by any means. He ran his own handbag company and was president of a major corporation where he developed the company into a $200 million business along with the design inspiration of his wife Kathy (of Kathy Van Zeeland fame). B. Makowsky handbags are defined by a signature leather tassel in addition to chunky satin-finished hardware and signature paisley lining. Zippers and pockets create function without bulk. Colors include simple blacks, browns and ivory with pops of fresh colors such as red, denim, saffron and tangerine.

Fabulous leather, hardware on the tacky side

This handbag is the perfect shape for hugging your body. It doesn't add visual pounds, like most handbags. It fits over a winter coat. It has my two requirements, a zip top opening and an outside pocket. The biggest drawback for me, is the HUGE obnoxiously bright gold hardware. Why is it included? It is not close to the color of real gold, there is too much of it and it makes the bag heavier than it needs to be. I prefered when Makowsky used silver toned hardware. It is less jarring. I read on other message boards that the lighter colors in this bag pick up the dye from jeans and other clothing, even 2 year old jeans. It doesn't hold as much as I thought it would and the opening is a little small.
