Originally founded in 1953, the original Kork-Ease sandal was introduced as a comfort shoe. The brand coasted in obscurity as the company built hand-made buffalo sandals out of Brooklyn, NY. Almost 20 years later, it was hijacked as a fashion item by the counter-culture youth movement in the early ‘70s, when the shoe suddenly rocketed to rock-star status. Once designed on the factory floors of Brooklyn; Kork-Ease has stood the true test of time as it now appears once again in the best stores around the world.

Great, but allow for breaking-in.

Love these shoes! Lightweight, stylish and totally comfortable. Note: the front straps initially felt slightly narrow and stiff and I actually considered returning them. I am SO glad I didn't. After 2-3 wears, they broke in and now they feel perfect! I walked all over the place in these on a recent trip to Prague and my feet felt great, even on all the cobblestones. I am usually an 8.5-9, ordered these in an 8.
