cute boot but not functional

Posted by:  mva (san diego, ca usa) Feb 6, 2010
The shoe part of the boot was true to size, however as mentioned in other reviews the calf is way to tight. I have small calves, so I didn't think it would be an issue! How wrong was I after putting the boot on I barely was able to put it on. There was absolutely no room to stuff your jeans or any pant for that matter into the boot. It's almost like the boots pattern is defective.

Too narrow

Posted by:  clt Feb 6, 2010
I was really excited about these boots. The only problem when I got them was that the boot shaft was way too narrow. My calves are normal sized, and I could not get these boots on all the way over them. They would have been the perfect pair of boots otherwise. Too bad.

Cute and sturdy!

I bought these boots after my last (cheaper) pair broke, and so far I'm pretty pleased. I love that they are lined, because I can wear them without socks, especially if I'm wearing tights. The shaft is a bit narrow, and I have fairly narrow calves, so it might be a tight fit for some. But overall I do really like them and they work great in the rain. My only complaint is that my socks tend to bunch up uncomfortably, but it's too bad.

Order 1/2 to a whole size up, Very Cute

I wear an 8.5 and I ordered a 9 and an 8. I opened up the box with size 9 first and tried it on and it feels like an 8, my big toe is just borderline touching the tip of the shoe. I am not going to bother trying on the 8. If I could do it over again I would order a 9 and 10 to try on. I am going to keep the 9 because they do fit. The shaft is pretty tight, but one reviewer said it will stretch out so I am going to wear them around the house with pants stuffed in them, beware, your feet might tingle a littler. There is a really strong smell from the rubber, but there is a sticker that says it is 100%PVC free which I am happy about, so I will just try to air them out. They are easier to slide out of than hunter boots. The inside is felt. The kakhi is a pretty deep green, and they are shiny! so cute!

Fits snug and a size small

I am very happy with my purchase these boots fits snug so you even feel a little stylish while wearing rain boots and I must say that is a first for me.
I am glad that I took the advice of the feed back I read and ordered a size bigger than I normally would. The are a snug fit now and I usually buy a 8 1/2 and ordered a size 10 and is super happy with that.

Wow, way too small

Posted by:  Amber Dusick Jan 25, 2010
After reading the other reviews I went a size up. I generally wear an 8 or and 8.5 so I ordered a size 9. Still WAY too small. My toe hits the front, ouch. Very tight around the calves too, I could barely fit in my pants. I have tiny calves (I'm 5'6" 110 lbs for reference) so I can't imagine these working for most people at all. As for look, they DO look very sturdy and well made so they have that going for them. I'd suggest buying a few sizes to find the one that works for you!

Boots and Matters

Posted by:  Kirsten E. Byers (Chicago, IL) Jan 25, 2010
I bought the Khaki colored boots, which are a dark army green and not a typical Khaki color, which is more than fine with me. I ordered the boots one size larger based on reading other people's reviews which was a saving grace. While the shoe part of the boot fits great the top of the boot shaft is so incredibly tight that the first few times I wore them I nearly bruised my calf, and I'm not a big person. The top has since stretched out-minimally but is still so tight that the boot is only comfortable while I'm wearing tights or leggings. Forget it if you want to tuck your pants into them.
On the other hand they are incredibly warm and block out all moisture which is great for winter walking.

Comfortable, Great Look, Great Value

Really nice rain boots. I'd give it 5 stars if the boot shaft wasn't too narrow (and I don't have big calves). It stretched out fine and now I'm able to wear them with jeans. I feel the shoe size is true to size, however, if you want to wear really thick socks to keep your feet nice and warm, get a size bigger. The inside is a bit insulated so wearing it with regular socks is fine too (though I'm in California and the coldest it's ever been that I can remember is 40 degrees).

Went rockfishing in these for new years...

Posted by:  Victoria Schmit Jan 16, 2010
I went rockfishing at VA Beach on New Year's and these boots were great! I had room for two pair of hiking socks to keep warm. My toes are always freezing even though these are rated for -11 degrees; two pair of hiking socks are key. On the 31st, I wore one pair of hiking socks. On the 1st, I wore two pair because my toes had the numb feeling from the day before.

Monster Calves??

Posted by:  citygirl (Chicago) Dec 29, 2009
I have average calves, not big or tiny. The shaft of this boot is just low enough to hit right at the biggest part of my calf, making them a bit tight. Not a lot of room for jeans to tuck in; they're fine with tights or leggings. I live in Chicago and have purchased many pairs of winter boots and frankly got tired of cold, wet, feet. And well, let's be honest, waterproof snow boots are ugly and expensive. This was the perfect solution for me...my feet are dry and warm. I'm dealing with the tight shaft because I love everything else about these boots. Snow mounds and slush puddles are no match for me...

runs very small

Posted by:  J. Gerber (Washington, D.C.) Dec 19, 2009
These were attractive but run so small I had to return them. They were small everywhere -- width, length, boot shaft, and I think my calves are thin to average. I ordered a size 10 and in most shoes wear a 9. So if they fit you, you'll have a nice boot.

great rain boot

I am sz 9.5 so I bought both the 9 and 10. the 10 fit perfectly. I bought this to walk my dog in but to also run around town on wet days and not look sloppy. This is the perfect combo: stylish yet warm and dry! the top fits snug,
